The publication Thinking Jewellery Two continues the endeavours of the first volume to establish a theory of jewellery from a wide range of academic perspectives. A key book in teaching and an exciting read for all lovers of jewellery!

The slogan 'Thinking Jewellery' is, alongside the creative experimental aspects of the curriculum, a leitmotif of the Gemstones and Jewellery course at the Trier University of Applied Sciences/Campus Idar-Oberstein. The symposia – the highlights of this theoretical work on jewellery – are now accompanied by a recurrent publication series under the title Thinking Jewellery, which stimulates discussion on a contemporary theory of jewellery beyond ingrained classifications and the established boundaries that lie between the disciplines.

The interdisciplinary approach of the series makes it possible to locate jewellery within the context of art and design in today's society. It aims to do this through academically oriented research and by promoting discourse within jewellery's historical and social relationships.

All contributions in the publication Thinking Jewellery Two are based on lectures from the 2017 symposium of the same name at the Trier University of Applied Sciences/Campus Idar-Oberstein.
